Sight Words/High Frequency Words

Below are the sight words we will learn this year. In Kindergarten we call these "red" words or "heart" words. Parts of these words cannot be phonetically read and spelled (they break the rules) so you have to know them by "heart." We will focus on each column of words during the current trimester, but we may not necessarily go in order. Words will be highlighted after they have been taught.

As of the end of December 2025, all Trimester 1 words had been taught and practiced in class. The only Trimester 2 that we studied was the word "was".
